All over Ireland artists, sculptors and craftspeople are creating beautiful, unique pieces at surprisingly affordable prices. In county Monaghan Nelius Flynn is among these talented Irish artists. Since he first began exhibiting in 1987 his reputation has grown and his pictures hang in homes and businesses both in Ireland and abroad. Nelius keeps a selection of his works at his studio in Main Street, Emyvale which can be viewed at any time. He is currently displaying drawings and paintings of landscapes, streetscenes, woodlands and floral still lifes.

Often visitors come to the studio to arrange a personal commission. A frequent request is for a picture of the family home or business which can be drawn from photographs old and new. Nelius is best known for his finely detailed pen and coloured pencil drawings and his gouache/watercolour paintings which combine meticulous observation with vivid colour His street scenes and landscapes are always popular, especially when they have a special significance for the purchaser. Churches and schools are also requested.

Original art works are the ideal wedding, anniversary or special birthday gift. Prices range from €200 to €500. Nelius also paints club crests on watercolour paper which are then framed and can be hung proudly in the club house or family home. They also make a unique presentation gift. Prices vary but on average are €275 for 16 in. X 12in.
