Mc Elvaney's Waste & Recycling is a family-run business established back in 1985. The company provides a Waste & Recycling Service to household and commercial customers throughout the county of Monaghan.

WHEEL BIN SERVICE HOUSEHOLD

For over 20 years, McElvaney’s have provided a door-to-door waste collection to the people of County Monaghan. Nowadays customers are provided with two 240 litre wheel bins Free of charge – one for Waste (green) and one for mixed dry Recyclables (blue).

We operate a fair system of Pay-By-Weight charging for the waste bin while the weight of the recyclable material is free of charge. The benefits of this system are two fold:

* From the introduction of the Pay-by-weight and Recycling scheme in 2003, household customers of McElvaneys in County Monaghan have reduced the annual amount of waste sent to landfill from 1,250kgs/house/year to 680kgs at present – one of the lowest in the country, and
* Recycling rates have increased year on year leading to our customers continuing to see the benefit in their half yearly bills.

Mc Elvaney’s currently operate on an alternate week collection basis which means that each household customer receives 26 waste and 26 recycle collections per year.

SKIP HIRE

From a garage clearout to a large building site, McElvaney’s can provide the necessary skip size suitable for the job. It is as easy as ringing for the skip or ordering on-line using the order form below and filling it. We will then collect it and recycle as much as is possible in the Scotch Corner recycling facility.

Various sizes of skips are available from the mini 4 yard skip to the large 12 yard, or for much larger jobs we can provide a range of Roll On/Roll Off skips from 20 yard to 60 yard.

McElvaney's can also offer Commericial customers the option of having a permanent skip placed in the yard and emptied on-site by the Rear End Loader (REL) Skip truck. These skips are available open or covered with a lid.

McElvaney’s can arrange a representative to call to your premises to advise you on a skip size, accessability and best value for money.

McElvaney’s will recycle everything from timber and concrete to plastic toys and clothes from your skip. No hazardous waste (including paint and fluorescent lights) or household waste can be accepted in the skip.

LIQUID WASTE MANAGEMENT

Mc Elvaney’s Waste and Recycling provide 24hour, seven day a week coverage on Septic Tank and Drain Cleaning.

Mc Elvaney's hold all required Waste Collection Permits and ensure Full Traceability with disposal of all waste at Officially licensed Waste Treatment sites.

RECYCLING CENTRE

The Recycling Centre at the Scotchcorner is the only one in County Monaghan and is situated in the centre of the county beside the landfill which is also the only one in the county. The centre is used by an average of 500 people per week. There is no gate fee unlike other centres throughout the country so this is a great factor in encouraging people to come and recycle for free.

The centre is open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5.30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm and is open through lunch.
